    Magic Salve is full of organic nourishing skin repair and antibacterial ingredients.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How to use? 

    Apply to the affected area 2-3x daily.

    Wounds: apply the salve directly to the wound and then cover with a sticking plaster.

    Scrapes: apply the salve to the sticky plaster first and then apply the plaster to the skin.

    Dry & Cracked Skin: Rub a small amount into the skin as many times a day as needed. It will absorb in and help the skin to repair. If you have very cracked/dry hands or feet apply the salve then cover with socks or gloves.

    Skin Rashes/Irritation: Apply directly to the area as many times per day as needed to soothe.

    Splinters: apply a blob over the wound and then apply a sticking plaster on top repeat till the splinter has been drawn out.

    Insect bites: apply directly to the area as many tines per day as needed.

    Cracked or chapped lips: apply directly to the lips as many times per day as needed. It will soak in an help to repair. Note it does have a strong flavour.

    Tattoos: Apply directly to the area several times per day till it has healed.

    Is it safe for children?

    Yes, suitable for the whole family.
    To be safe for children are under the age of 2 we recommend diluting the balm with a little carrier oil (olive oil, almond, coconut oil) in your palm with some of the product allowing the heat of your hand to melt the balm and mix before application.

    Is it safe for sensitive areas?

    As this is a balm and has a lot of oils and waxes in it it rarely causes skin irritation.
    But if you are prone to sensitive skin then it is important to do a swatch test on a small area.

    If you ever notice it stinging then heavily douse the area with a plain carrier oil like olive oil, almond oil, any sort of oil is fine. It will dilute the essential oils and reduce the sting.

    How often do I apply?

    Recommend applying it to the area minimum of 2 x daily until the skin has healed.

    What ingredients are in the Magic Salve?

    How long does it last?

    Each tin has a BB (best before date) of 2 years.
    As long as the product doesn't smell rancid it's safe to continue using it.

    How is it Anti-Bacterial?

    Clove, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Lemon Scented Tea Tree and Lemon are well known natural anti-bacterial/anti-septic essential oils.
    They help to disinfect the area and speed healing.

    Is it safe for pets?

    Due to the presence of some essential oils (eg tea tree) that are not compatible with our feline and canine friends, we do not recommend using these product on your pets unless advised by your veterinary professional.

    My Salve as Gone Grainy?

    It's totally fine to use even if it has gone grainy.
    This happens because it is a 100% natural product and it contains coca, shea and kokum butter. When they are when exposed to heat as they reset the butters can go grainy.
    This doesn’t impact the efficacy of the Magic Salve at all, it just means you need to rub it a little longer on your skin so the butters melt.
