My all time favourite essential oil is Frankincense - Boswellia Caterii.

It's well known for its spiritual uses. You can apply a drop to your 3rd eye, on the crown of your head or diffuse while meditating.
Frankincense great for helping to stimulate the pineal glad as it helps to raise your vibrational frequency and connect you to the divine.
It has a strong association with many religions, and is written about in the bible over 50 times. Some of the old text refer to it being used for gout to a broken head!
I was raised Catholic and the resin is burned during Easter, Christmas and other major ceremonies, of course I didn't know what the smoke was that they wafted around till I was much older!
You can actually burn the resin at home to (in a dedicated resin burner) help to cleanse your space and shift the energy of your space.
What is Frankincense essential oil used for?
Aside from the spiritual uses, there have been many scientific studies done on the properties of Frankincense oil and if you want to do a deep dive you can research them yourself on Pub Med.
It has been studied for its impact on stress, anti-ageing, cancer, digestion, wound repair, opening the lungs and many more other things. It actually helps DNA to repair, which is great news for our skin.
If I could only have one oil in the world for me Frankincense would be the winner. If you're not sure, then put Frankincense on it, it's that versatile.
It has a subtle aroma and a light woody scent.
How do you get the oil?
It comes from the sap/resin of the mature frankincense tree. The bark is scraped off in patches and then the tree creates sap to heal its self.

I make my own oil infusions with frankincense resin to use in some of my products. I infuse them for 3 months this ensure the oil has a nice saturation of Frankincense in it. This infusion is used in my Magic Salve and Tinted lip balms.
With all these amazing benefits Frankincense is a major ingredient in my Foundations, and my Makeup Remover this is because of its DNA repair properties as well as its anti-ageing aspects. I figure our skin can do with some nice extra support from one of nature's most amazing oils.
